Adoption Alliance networks with Huminka's Anioly in Pennsylvania to place children from Poland. Huminska's Anioly has placed hundreds of wonderful children from Poland over the past 15 years. For Colorado families wishing to adopt through this program, Adoption Alliance will provide your local services, including writing your home study, helping you to meet parent preparation training requirements and following up with post-placement services.

Family requirements:

Couples and single women may apply. The mother should be no more than 40 years older than the child desired and couples must have been married for at least two years. Families also must commit to keeping the child connected with his/her Polish heritage, through their own heritage, or the family's other personal connections to the Polish culture.

Children:

The children available are usually 18 months and older. Children are well cared for by their caretakers in orphanages. There are boys and girls available including siblings and many sibling groups of three or more children.

The Process:

You will need to complete your home study and parent preparation education, apply to CIS and put together your dossier. The wait for referral information about a child or children depends on what type of child or children you plan to adopt. The wait is shorter for older children or sibling groups, and longer for younger children. After you receive information about your child, you will travel to Poland to commit to the child and attend the adoption court hearing. You then return home for 4-6 weeks while additional paperwork and a passport for your child are processed in Poland. You will return to Poland for a short trip to complete the U.S. Embassy paperwork to receive your child's U.S. visa.
