Traditional Infant Adoption Program, Colorado Families Only

Designated Adoption Program

A designated adoption is one in which birth parents are aware of a specific family with whom they wish to place their child for adoption. Our participation in the designated adoption includes counseling for the birth parents and completion of a home study for the adoptive family selected by the birth parents. Adoption Alliance accepts custody of the child through court relinquishment and/or termination of the birth parents' parental rights and assists the adoptive parents with the finalization of adoption in court. The agency provides post-placement counseling to all parties until the adoption is finalized. Contact Adoption Alliance for a current fee schedule.

Interstate Designated Adoption Program

Adoption Alliance provides services in interstate designated adoptions where either the birth parent or adoptive family resides outside the state of Colorado.

If the birth parent lives in Colorado and the prospective adoptive family lives out of state, the family may contract with Adoption Alliance to provide birth parent counseling, legal relinquishment and termination of parental rights, interstate processing services, placement services, and post-placement communication services. The adoptive family will need to contract with the agency in their home state for their home study, post-placement services, and finalization of the adoption. Contact our office for a current fee schedule.

If the prospective adoptive family lives in Colorado and the birth parent lives out of state, Adoption Alliance will provide services for the adoptive family in Colorado, including home study, coordinating the necessary interstate paperwork with the agency/attorney in the other state, and processing post-placement and finalization services. The adoptive family will be responsible for contracting with a service provider in the birth parent's state. We strongly recommend that the family contract with a licensed child placement agency in the other state. It may also be necessary to hire an attorney. This varies from state to state. Contact our office for a current fee schedule for Designated Adoption.

La Familia Program

There is an ongoing need for families for children of all ages. Families who wish to adopt older children, children with special needs, or children in the custody of the county departments of human services are welcome to apply through our Waiting Child Adoption Program or our Foster Care Program.
